Photographer’s Note
Monywa is one of the places in Myanmar where it can get really... I mean really hot, you know... north of burma style, soil cracked dry and no other vegetals growing but that rough goat grass.
In town it's a relief taking some shadows in the market. While some privileged people in the big city can have their head washed fresh, rural Monywa market only allows a shelter from the sun and a place to spend the long summer afternoons.
He who'd senselessly do anything else than sit or sleep would be a fool, a kid or a photographer...

I really had trouble finding something to post after yours, Francis... I hope I get better a chance for the next, let's see what you got for tomorrow...

nice image Luko, nice compo witht the frame divided into two parts, of course this kid is a focus point of the image - the attention goes to him very quickly, however I'd like to see sth in the bottom left corner - just to balance the composition. and also all those colors on the right - when I cover that part the image gains IMO. nice shot all in all

Salut Luko,

Very beautiful composition and color. The surprising aspect of this photo is the quite unexpected depth on the left through which you see this row of people and at the end the child on a stride in the light. Yet, the attention is first sharp on the main subject, the girls face peeking out the shop. Excellent arrangement of this complex mass of stuff within the rectangular frame.

Luko,
A great compostion and a very nice plit photo. Nice framing although the colour is quite distracting from the overall image. I saw Maciej's workshop and think it does change the scene but i would prefer to have something in the foreground to really frame the lady. Love the dpeth of this and the child in light in the shadows of the market.
Cheers

Maciej "got it" immediately of course, I mean the clever architecture and organization of this piece. This is what I would call a "courageous" offering in that it probably won't be wildly popular, on the other hand it offers a lot of tasty morsels for photo afficionados...like the division of the space and that figure walking towards us from the far left giving depth and movement, as well as a very Luko-ish character sheltering behind her wares on the right.
It's not an easy photo, ut well worthwhile posting IMO.
Cheers,
-F

ok , at first i thought i didn't like it, but after a bit of contemplation , theres some things that stand out..the tremendous depth of the image, with the highlighted kid surrounded by the shadows..the arrangement of shapes , colours.. the shirt on the far right is not ideal but i see where you're coming from..
good stuff, a photo that makes you take some time to explore.

Mad dog and Englishmen or should I say Frenchmen ;)
Its the young kid in the light in the pasaage that makes this for me, great depth.

I like the two frames here. the tie-dyed shirt and the pillar of clothes make a nice frame for the hiding lady. then the same pillar and the left side for the walking kid.
I really like it. the colors are great and it captures two nice scenes. along with the shadow people on the left edge.
