(Posted for the Narayan and Francis who missed people in yesterdays post, enough here guys? :)
Full Moon ----Inle Lake
Phaung Daw U festival, four of the Buddha images from the Phaung Daw U Pagoda are rowed round the lake (one remains behind to guard the pagoda). Boat races are also held on the lake during the festival, here we see the men in orange and women in blue, racing Intha style (one-legged).

Hi Elaine, I challenge Narayan and Francis to count the number of rowers here! A great shot again. What a beautiful landscape these people are rowing in. Besides the landscape it also strikes me that the man boat has about twice the size of the women's team! So far for equality, I guess. BUT! The women's boat surely goes as fast as the other one - with half the manpower! I very much enjoyed this shot! Sabine

It seems that east asian boat races are en vogue lately,
Beautifully captured action, great colourful costumes set agains teh background.
A little bit pixelated though, but ohterwise pretty nice

great action shot, also workshop photo is very good. This feels me like they are racing in a painting because of the reflection.

What a fantastic sight, is it really a race, they seem a bit unmatched. Must have taken some planning finding a good PoV in advance.

Hi Elaine. Wonderful photo. the colors are splendid and the reflections and composition are great too... well done.
Sabine, I counted 75 (on both boats, not including their reflections) :)

HOLY COW - uncanny FOR SURE!!!!
What a coincidence :O)
And you are right - I was at Inle Lake exactly 1 year ago to see a big festival. I don't remember the name of it but it must have been the same festival. And the day I took my photo of today I was on my way to the festival. I will see if I have a photo that is good enough to post.
Your image is a true painting Elaine - good POV (wonder where you were standing.....on the balcony of the big restaurant?), lovely strong colours on the misty background and perfectly framed.

Very strange boats, and what a peaceful place !
I like the water/sky lake... and superb light...

Good synchronization here, nice reflection and a good lead into the composition by the water. The reflection of the clouds is nice also. Good work.

The race we have here is really very imoportant. about 25000 people and more than 350 boats.
NIce picture with the reflect in water.
Ok for the theme. i will start

Hi Elaine, as much I like this shot is well seen and pleasant for the two boats and the reflection in the water in this wide landscape, as much and more I like your WS where you perspective compo and low angle is excellent and tthe photo is better defined in sharpness and contrast, higher quality, personal I favor that one a tiny bit more.
