Preparing Green Tea Photo

Photographer’s Note

Trek up from the charming town called Pindaya, we arrived to a Danu village. Danu is one of fiftynine tribes in Shan State of Myanmar. According to a source of an official book, there are even 135 ethnic groups living together in Myanmar. Danu people will say they are also Burmese and they came up to the mountains. They are simple, kind and religious (buddhist) people. Their economy depends on Agriculture. Mostly they grow tea leaves up on the mountain.
If you visit to a house in Myanmar(Burma), you will be provided with green tea in general and it is growed in many parts of Myanmar, including Shan State. Green Tea from Pindaya is famous in the country. We rest in this house and the woman is preparing tea for us. It was a very delicious tea. :) Yummy..
I correct it in PS CS2. The original picture turn out burned in the window and tea pot area. When I adujust with Hilight (and shadow), the smoke around the tea pot became normal. I also turn it into gray scale mode. I like both color and b&w. Please tell me which one is better. Workshop is also welcomed. Thank you for ur time with my picture.

WOW...this is just...splendid. I really like the light you captured here, the woman's position in the frame is perfect and the smoke is the icing on the cake and finishes off the composition. Such a wonderfully peaceful scene you've captured here. I works wonderfully well and goes into my faves for sure. Well done!

Can I dare to call this this photo "The Teamaid" from Yeah ?

This is a lovely capture and a great composition reminds me the painting "The Milkmaid" from Vermeer. Same lighting coming from the window, the color, the woman, etc.

Hi Yeah, This really is an exceptional photograph! The composition is so perfect it feels like watching a painting: All items contributing to the ritual of tea making are so carefully put as if a painter set up a scene. The elegant and meditative attitude of the woman is beautiful. The way the light falls in and enlightens the cooking pot and its steam really adds to the mysticism of this image. I already told you I liked this one very much when I saw your print, I guess I'm not the only one who'll like it down here.

Everything has been said about the light, but Alsom comment really nailed the point, comparing it to Vermeer paintings.

Great lights and composition. Everything placed nicely: the lady, the teapot and the jar. Nothing to complain. If you have other photo with the lady right hand place on the handle of the teapot or starting the fire, that would be priceless.

Wonderful capture of a daily life.
The exposure is perfect and I like the mood here.
I even have an impession of smelling the tee.
