Photographer’s Note

Among the many excursions done around Mandalay, one of them was near the Irrawady river at Sagain. I was perhaps lucky to be there when the duck shepherd opened the gates and let the ducks run crazily to the water.

Incroyable tous ces canards qui vont se baigner !
L'image est amusant, on dirait que la vache attend patiemment qu'ils passent, comme on laisse passer un train.

merhaba izzet, this is such a cool picture: the herd of ducks heading to the water, guider by the man, and "protected" by the cow; the cow must have been in a real shock, or at least it looks like being in the shock;

funny how these ducks form a diagonal that separates the image in parts. the cow looks puzzled. I like the colors of the clothes on the shepherd. funny and nice picture.

That is in fact a special moment!
I've never seen such a thing. I wonder if the ducks will ever come back! After beeing in the water I guess they would prefer to stay there. :)

The contrast between the quiet cow and the stampeding ducks is really very funny. And an interesting slice of daily life too.

Excellent composition, Izzet. THe placement of the cow and the man with respect to the river of ducks is great. Color, as always, is marvelous. There is one disappointment for me though...as I saw the thumbnail I was ripe with expectation...did he blur the ducks? Did he not? Did he blur the ducks? He did not. What if you did?

Great compositional choice Izzet - very nicely seen - I like the humerous element of the cow patiently waiting as if to cross the road - or bemused by this never ending stream - it is also interesting to see the guy herding them to the river - I don't think I have ever seen this!
