Photographer’s Note

The wonderful Lake Inle is 22 km long and 11 km wide at 1330 meters above sea level.
Alont the coastlines there are 17 villages.
The Inthas are the principale tribe of that region in the Souhe Shan State.
The Inthas are famous for their rowing technique of standing up holding a long paddle in one hand and their leg wrapped around the paddle lower down. This leaves them free to use the other hand for manipulating their net for fishing in the waters of the lake.

Very nice photo, like the others the man and the kid are great here, and good choice of composition not showing the entire boat and positioning them on the left. Good colours for the background, and you managed a complete photo without overexposing the sky!

I was thinking this guy is too centered in the picture, but the little kid well balanced the composition. This is a nice scene, I always wonder, how thiese people can stay on one foot like this.

A superb daily life shot, with good sharpness color & lighting. I would not be brave enough to attempt to stand up in these frail looking boats, but here we see not 1 but 2 people standing up. Well seen & shot! Bellisimo!

Very nice atmospheric picture, the little guy waving is lovely, and although the man is pretty centered this way, I appreciate the fact that you included the jars in the boat.

I like daily life pictures, always the reality but with wonderful colours, certaintly the small boy in the boats als exceelent detail. Perhaps a few grain to the sky but very nice for looking.

Your scanned shots do not look as modern as those taken by Amibe, but they are good too and show us more daily life scenes from this fascinating country, details I like here are the ready attitude of the man and the strong contrasting blue clothes.

Very interesting composition. The man standing in the middle of the frame really balances the photo against what is usual in these cases. I believe that the minimalist background as well his colored shirt and unusual position contribute to this. A bit more sharpness and contrast balance (less) could enhance the image.

The way he paddles is really intriguing.
