Of cows and men Photo

Photographer’s Note

We were on the road between Kalaw and the Pindaya Caves, a long long travel of many hours by car.
The most part of the travel was in wonderful valleys with few small villages. After many hours the mountains of Kalaw Region ended in a plateau; we didn't saw any villages or cities for many hours, when in front of us appears a long long worm....it was the longest that i ever saw in my life.
more than 300 Karen Danu, men, women, children and some cows! They were going to a Market Festival.

(The Danu tribes live mostly in the Pindaya cave area. The name Danu is derived from the word ‘Donke’ which means ‘brave archers’. The people in this area are named after the brave archers who settled here after fighting wars in Thailand. The Danu are farmers, they speak Burmese but with an accent, they also wear Burmese costume.)

great shot! I love the basic colors green black and red. The cow in the fore ground balances the line of people nicely. It is great how the line of people moving diagonaly through the photo give such nice perspective.

I really like the photo in pricniple, but I think a tighter crop would work better. Maybe crop of the two persons most on the left and definetly some of the sky as its abit dull.
Love the line of people and the diagonal pattern.

I remember there, nice to see many farmers... but here they are going to a festival.

nice compo, i like this frame, very dynamic, and the cow in the empty space. The contrast is good, beautiful tones. Miss a little sharpness (scan picture), but it's a detail.

Nice comosition with that line of people going over there. And I like the sky as well ! Even if it may seem quite bright, it gives power & light to aall the greens below, well done !

Paolo, superb documentary picture, the line of human beings on their way, toiling for their survival and the cow that seems unaffected by the preoccupations of life because she has found what she needs for her survival.
Great assembly of the picture's elements.
Your pictures and your knowledgeable notes should be put together in a photography book of travels.

Una bella foto di questi campi burmesi...mi ricorda il mio soggiorno in Tailandia del Norte dove ho vissuto per un mese in un paese Akha (tribù delle montagne). Questo verde intenso dei prati durante la staggione delle pioggie è fantastico e ripasso domani per il verde per questo commento.... ;o)

I like the diagonal path through the fields, lined with people. The water buffalo is an interesting add-on. A good daily life shot. Bellisimo!

Very well done, this is a great view with a special light for the dayly life of these people.
Well composed using the rod line in opposition to a space where the two subjects are very well positionned.

Ciao Paolo; je ne connais pas ce pays, mais j'apprécie cette composition rurale.
J'ai fait un petit travail pour équilibrer avec l'avant-plan en donnant au ciel un peu de bleu.

Ciao Paolo; non conosco questo paese, ma apprezzo questa composizione rurale. Ho fatto un piccolo lavoro per equilibrare con il primo piano dando al cielo un po'di blu.
