Photographer’s Note
I took that image from the upper desk of the Postal Boat, during one of the stop along the Irrawaddy.
Every time hundreds of people ran from the banks in to the water and try to sale something to the passengers.
That 6 girls were food merchants.

Hi Paolo,
sometimes shots from this perspective fail to really make the mark - always an interesting angle but there is often something missing to really mark the image out as something special. Here - on the postal boat looking down into a river that these women had waded to trade - the details of their trade, their postures (of expectation), the connection with the boat, the lovely light on the water all conspire to make this a really interesting and quite wonderful image.
best wishes
Kev

Hi Paolo! Very interesting POV! You've captured well a daily life scene here in Asia. The murky waters, their clothes and their products really make your photo colorful. Lighting is very good as well! Very good catch! rgds.

Kind of strangle angle shooting directly down. Still for this compo with the explaining notes I think it work well. What a sad situation to be depending for incomes this way, still not unusal in those countries. Good wrok Paolo.
PS: I suggest you make a theme or a travelougue for photos in the same series like this.

This shot is great not because of the subject matter, but because of the POV. Looking down at the people trying to push their stuff onto the passengers makes the image. The light brown of the water makes for a perfect backdrop for this wonderful image. Nothing really to nit pick here...good work!

Hello Paolo,
This is an unusual point of view. It is a nice colored view of their daily life.
Perhaps sharpness needs to be improved though.

I apologize for having missed this superb image, Paolo. Beautiful POV here, highly effective, makes one dream of old-time river journeys, of COnrad and all the greats.
First class work.
Bravo!

I went through your posts today, all the pictures....
Nice pictures are there. I love them a lot, and this one is the best picture for me. This is a very complex composition but well managed. The POV is unique. A typical Burma daily life picture.
