Next to the iconic Shwe Yaunghwe Kyaung monastery, you could easily miss a smaller but highly impressive temple located across the golden stupa, lined with hundreds of niches holding small Buddhas in gilded red and blue walls.
It's an intriguing place, with narrow corridors, vaulted ceilings and beautiful tiles that is really worth a visit.

Superb capture as always taken with a great sense of the moment with this monk inside. Like the way you managed the composition here to show the beautiful details of the wall and interesting perspective of this place. Soft play of light and shadow added something special to the scene. Tfs!

I missed it :(. It looks fascinating place, what a pity I haven't seen it. praying monks in their robes are always so photogenic. Excellent composition. Fantastic perspective, nice colours. Well seen intimate moment. Interesting all these niches. Are some of the Buddha figures dressed like monks?? I suppose that in Myanmar there are more Buddhas than people.I like it very much.

Namaste dear Andre
So serene, so sublime...
The series of small Buddha statues in their little coves makes this monastery different...that's what I would like to believe, having never been to this wonderful country. Lovely murals on the walls as well.
Great handling of light..
Once again a fantastic photograph from you!
PS: What's latest on your move plans?

A photograph to linger over.
The mood is so still, so contemplative, so utterly absorbing.
You have created a wonderful shot with excellent details, lovely subdued lighting as well as 'mood'.

Another fascinating photo of a monk from you. You say it was an intriguing place and you certainly did a great job to convey that mood in your image. I like the play of light and shadow and strong contrast here. The monk's face is hidden in shadow which adds to the overall sense of mystery.

You have managed the lighting conditions well, to produce a wonderful image with a lot of mood and feeling. I like the diagonal perspective lines of the wall of Buddhas making them feel like they go on infinitely. The monk is well placed and the whole image has a great quality to it. It must have been a wondrous feeling to be in this place.

This is a great shot with excellent use of light and shadows. The angle of the photo works well allowing us to have subjects POV.

A fabulous shot of a much more reserved, contemplative when ambience creates a religious mood of a profound strong look showing the immense devotion and serenity in a state of pure calmness. You have obviously caught him in a moment of deep pray and so much peace reflected. Full marks for exposure, colours and contrast. A delightful and your usual seamless photo works. Congrats.
