Staying in Sagaing makes it easy to jump on a motorbike taxi and take in some sightseeing. Mingun is 30 mins drive from Sagaing and would have boasted the world's largest pagoda if it ever had been finished. Two earthquakes damaged the pagoda in 1839, as you can see there has been an half-hearted attempt to repair some of the cracks. Towards the end of the afternoon as the sun goes down the unfinished pagoda glows red,- the novices give some scale.

Commentaires intéressants. Dommage que l'édifice ne soit pas terminé. Bonne lumière sur la porte. Les Bonzes donnent le côté vie de la photo.

I like very much how balanced and elegant this composition looks as you have employed the elements that define the scenery, the colours and the perspectives in an excellent way. We get a great idea of this fascinating place, depth and clarity are superb. Apart from that, even beyond the physical description, the picture is a delight to look at for its beautiful light and bright contrasting colours.
Very well done.

complimenti anche per questa bella foto nella quale la luce ed il colore hanno una loro partico9lare evidenza e interagiscono in maniera perfetta con il soggetto.
Ottimi sia formato che composizione.
Ciao e buona domenica

very eye catching photo even in miniature.
The most captivating are the colors, rich and warm thanks to this late afternoon light. The ruined pagoda provides fantastic settings for two young monks heading towards it. Their dark red robes make them contrasting with surroundings and help to create strong point of interest.
Superb light, colors and perfect sharpness.
Thanks for sharing and enjoy your Sunday!

This is an evocative image with the two young monks kicking up the dry sand as they walk in the low light at the end of the day. The red robes stand out crisply against the sand-coloured pagoda. A beautiful image.
Kind Regards, Ann

Pleasantly surprised to see another post from you! This is a lovely picture from many photographer's favourite country. Warm, low light on the impressive facade and on the young monks' robes.
