Chin village in Rakhine state was the most remote place I visited in Myanmar and the farthest of civilization I have ever been. Even in Africa, in the places I visited, there were excellent campings, with electricity, running water, asphalt roads.. ( I was a bit disappointed, although it was quite comfortable). Already Mrauk U was difficult to go - one hour flight to Sittwe and then six hours by boat), but we had to go farther three hours by boat to reach this village. We were there with the owner of our hostel in Mrauk U, who knew all the people there, so we could visit the houses inside and the local school. The women of this villaged used to tattoo their faces. Now there are only seven women with such faces, they told us the stories about it. The poverty there is incredible, the people have nothing, no Internet - how could they when there is no electricity, no running water, telephones, no raods to the town, only transport by boats. But do they care? It was unique experience.
Once I found my Myanmar photos, I can't stop looking at them. But it is the last one, I will come back to France :). Two other shots in WS.

What an adventurous young lady you are:-) This is a great family portrait, even the dog wanted to get in on the act! I like the dappled light and warm tones. A splendid souvenir to bring home.

All three photos pay tribute to the Chin village kindergarden, Malgo, and in a charming way to show this.
Kids always give joy, and in your photo it is most notable how the mothers care and ahppy to look after their children.
Also, light managed superbly, under shaded area, and yet each color has its own vividness.
Lovely taken the moment,

a charming and wonderful insight to family life. So much happiness and innocence here and all captured in soft and flattering light. Perhaps a shot without the dog's rear end would have focussed attention a bit more on the human characters here, but then he is part of the family group too I suppose!
Have a good week - B.

yes, i understand you very well, because our approaches to photography changes in time, and some photos which we tend to ignore may become interesting in the future. i still don't know how you ignored these for such a long time. of course, in your case, there is not enough time to upload anything, as you are always on the road. i wonder how many marvels are hidden in your pc....

What a uniquely old-fashioned social network you show us today. They actually have to talk to each other, face to face, instead of communicating properly through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other sources of life. How do they survive? :-)
This is another great picture that you didn't bother about for more than two years. I think exposure may have been a bit tricky in this place where everything is sunny and shady at the same time, but you handled that problem very well.

Swietny kadr obrazujacy dobrze codziennosc w tej wiosce.
Podobaja mi sie zywe kolory, ale przede wszystkim swiatlo tworzace niepowtarzalny klimat.

Une très belle scène de la vie quotidienne. La famille est importante et nombreuse . La simplicité es installations fait ressortir cette impression. J'aime le jeu des ombres et de la lumière.

Fine daily scene of the Chin women with children, the colorful garments contrasting with the brown tones.
Thanks for sharing this unusual place and life style,

What a splendid and colorful scene so full of joy of life despite the rather harsh conditions under which these people have live according to your tale. You are so lucky to have been able to visit this remote place indeed and the story and pictures you brought home are a really good documentation about the place.
have a great week

Calosc dobrze skomponowana.
Pozdrawiam i zycze milego dnia

Amazing capture of the dog on the foreground )) This village scene reminds me a park in Mumbai. But here is a place for life. Impressive interior... Thanks for this report from Burma, Mrs. I.F.

A calm daily scene in a village, far from the crowds of tourists. I like their faces, the light and even the presence of the dog.
