Photographer's Note

Probably the Eiffel tower of Mandalay, U Bein bridge is a über-touristic destination, except for my taxi driver who never heard of this place, even when showing him photos from my guidebook...

He had to stop 3 or 4 times along the road, asking locals for direction, talking for 15 minutes each times and pushing my patience to its limit, as I could see the light dropping.

I finally arrived at the very last moment, while the sun was sinking below the horizon. With hundreds of tourists gathering on the bridge to shoot themselves on this iconic landmark, I only had one window of opportunity to get this shot of two monks without a surrounding crowd, giving the impression that it is a quiet and peaceful place... while is actually totally the opposite, with dozens of buses and private taxis, waiting for their clients to return.

Hey! I was also part of this circus, so I am not blaming anyone, but still, this is the kind of place I thought I would be alone with few monks... :-p))

Just like a sunrise at Angkor Wat...
