[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This monk was at Schwedagon Pagoda, very nearby this worshipper. Here he is giving thanks to the gracious Buddha that the threatening red line didn't fall, crushing them both.

Tripod mounted, normal post porcessing, ISO 200, focal length 200mm (35mm equivalent=300mm), uncropped.

Great colors, Darren! Even without the seeing his face, the monk's hands really says it all - how focused and thankful he is! Clarity is excellent. I would have liked to see more of the monk's body though, but I think you've cropped it for a purpose. Thanks for sharing. rgds.

Beautiful colors, smart title and excellent framing, I think it's all together a simple and very strong image.

Hi Darren, I like this photo a lot. The colors are great, saturated. The light is perfect.
You made it great.
Alexandre

very good moment Darren, i really like the way he is holding his hands, great colors. the compo is a bit hm... original, but interesting. good work

Darren , i had given you a triple A on that one on your PBase gallery, and I confirm here my rating! It is a brilliant shot full of emotions and great vivid colors! You really captured an intimate moment with his hands opened in prayer, and I love the way you composed your image on a right to left diagonal! I love it! Your photo is so sharp too! a trademark!!

Oooh nooo, not the praying Blob again! I thought the praying Blob had been disintegrated at the end of the last episode (The revenge of the son of praying Blob)...

Seriously Darren, this (a man or a woman? nooo, it's the Blooob!) is shapeless!
Perhaps there was a decisive moment a sec. before or after but all I can say is that you missed it. I think the better timing for clicking happens in unresting transition moments, the guy is undoubtely resting hence that was the wrong time IMHo and you don't have any excuses for that as I guess you were sitting there and waiting with your tripod and your lunch box... we needed to see at least his eyebrows (if ever a Blob has eyebrows, perhaps twelve eyebrows...maybe what we take for his hands are eyebrows).

The other thing is that we can't really focus on a point, due to a lack of a strong point or to the fact that the strongest point is right in the center of the image (a usual weakness for centered images).

Finally, I will point the sandal poking from the side : everybody knows that the Blob only needs one shoe for his unique foot (that we exactly call pod) growing on his side (unuseful for long distance trips such as Blob planet to Earth, that's why the Blob prefers to fly).

In conclusion I give you a light green only for the color and the good DoF (lucky you : just imagine you had photographed a brown and beige Blob...)

Another awesome and creative one from you Darren. I think these Burma posts are your best work to date.

Hi Darren, very effective use of negative space here. That bold splash of color is so striking, too. Mostly, this photo gives me moods and feelings that help me at my own holiday celebrations today! Thanks!
