This photo should be on the newspaper, or magazine. You've got the moment when they have "been kids first".
Thanks for sharing. A copy went to my favorites.

Joy of life! Thanks Herve.
Well done again Herve.
One little niggle, is there any more of the photo available on the left, the boys robe has just been cropped a bit too close for my likings.

superbe celle ci hervé. Les couleurs des robes des moines vont si bien avec celles de la terre. On prend du temps à trouver où aboutissent les pieds qui sont au premier plan. Une image drole, pleine de rires, qui fait du bien. merci.

wow, excellent capture! I love the beautiful smiles on their faces. gr8 work Herve!
maybe monk-scouts... most young men are expected to give up at least a year in a monastery in most SE Asian countries... nice, emotional capture.

Hahaha! I love the expression of the kids' faces - so happy, so worry-free! And that kid turned upside-down is really funny! I remember when I was a kid, I used to shout and scream like them :) Your notes are wonderful and funny as well! Very good daily life photo! rgds.
hey herve i just came across this one..

You have a great collection of portraits Herve, but this one stood out the most for me and brought a smile to my face.
Youve chosen a great angle and captured the joy in their faces perfectly.

Strange but nice and attractive composition, and of course, a bit rebel for the fact of showing the monk's feet, the forbidden part of the body in most of South-East Asian cultures. Good reflexion. Regards.

Amicalement

What a wonderful picture! It captures so well one of those fleeting spontaneous moments. Actually they are not monks. A man cannot be ordained a monk until he has reached 20 years. These are novices ( samanera) who join the temple either to get an education or because the have no family. The have only 10 rules,( monks have 136) and do not have many temple duties and are allowed to be pretty normal kids. Most never go on to be ordained. It's largely part of the social structure.

Wow, what a capture.
Photographing kid like this is difficult, since they all come charging at you, making focus, and getting all the faces in, very difficult.
I love the colors, and I love the upsidedown kid. It's great

This captures the spirit that lives in Myanmar... even among the adults that are aware of their 'plight'... they still find things to smile about in their daily lives.
Excellent moment.

Ah to be able to illicit this response everywhere you go must give you a warm feeling. And to let you capture their innocence (did they thank you?) is so trusting and happy. Pure joy, certainly not hidden in THIS image! Ha ha, thank you so much for being who you are to get this kind of attention.

I love monks, especially the little ones.... this is a truly delightful picture, that turns the sombre pictures people have of monks in their minds, on it's head!!!
