Photographer’s Note
I was fortunate enough to visit Inle lake when the Phaung Daw U Pagoda festival was in progress. During the 18 day long celebration, four revered Buddha images are conveyed to monasteries on the lake in a gilded barge in the shape of the hintha, the golden swan of Burmese legend (photos to come). Here, on the penultimate day of the festival, teams of rowers race against each other. Over the next few days, I will post more photos taken during this festival.

Hello Ryno,
I looked at your other two festival photos, and I like this one the best. It is very interesting to see so many rowers balancing perfectly on this boat, and I like the decorations hanging above their heads. Is the first one a different color for a special reason?

Hi Ryno,
Not only were you lucky to be there during the festival, but you were also perfectly placed to get an incredible view of this floating centipede.
Good light, great definition and well framed.
Cheers!

Hi Ryno,
That's a great shot, so much life, fun and vibrancy happening here.
It looks like these guys paddle the oars with their legs, or do they use their leg as a rowlock to push the paddle against.
The umbrella's look fantastic.
Good work, thanks for sharing.
Regards
Peter
Is that a tow rope I can see at the front of the boat!!!!

Hi Ryno: thanks for sharing this image of something that I have never seen before. Such a wonderful image with unique pastel colors of the pants and the umbrellas. Nicely captured perspective and well done. Best regards. Jusni

Hi Ryno,
This photo is remembering me the Snake Boat Race of Alleppy in India. You have captured the motion interestingly. Nice photo. Congrats.

Hi Ryno
You were lucky indeed to enjoy this festival. Good image as you captured the entire boat, despite it moving. Were you on a boat as well or on land? I like how I can see some of the colours reflected in the water. I will be back to visit your gallery soon.
Take care,
Tosca
