Photographer's Note

We often see the long queues of Buddhist monks with small bowls, waiting for the portions of rice from the people. I felt pity for them for unsufficent food. I was surprised when I saw this monk in Shwedagon with his lunch, it looked not so bad.
I read somewhere that Buddhist monks cannot sit near women or talk to them. So it was surprise to me that this monk not only had nothing against my taking photos but even invited me to share his meal. But of cours, i thanked and very politely refused.
Like in many world's religion, also in buddhism there is sexism. In many places I saw the sign: Ladies are not allowed to enter. Also the nuns have experienced harsh disciminations.

I hope you will find it interesting.
