Yangon (= Rangoon): The Schwedagon Pagoda. I' ve seen Boudhist sanctuaries in quite a few countries: India, Thailand, China, Indonesia, Tibet, Vietnam. But this place is Magic: Beautiful elegance of the structure combined with the sacred athmosphere of the hill on which the "temple" is built. You come back there again and again. If you go there, go at sunrise, at noon, at sunset and dodn't mind when you have to catch a bus back to your hotel. There will always be another bus later on. take your time !!

I love it; Very well done. the varying tone of colors and the monk to give you the size of whart we are looking at. Excellent.

Wow, Lucas, very impressive, I think you made an excellent picture here, the lines are great and the colors somehow mysterious. The mere size of the pagoda can only be guessed because of the human figure. I would like very much to see a picture of the whole building. Is it possible to upload such a picture (if you have it), as a workshop?

At 1st glance it seems as if he is either on giant books or he is a miniature. I like it well seen.

Good shot of the detail of the pagoda. It makes a change from the standard photos. The monk is just perfect to put the building in context and also to show scale.

Lucas, we do share a lot, looking at your pix and note. the Shwedagon is exactly what you say, magic, morning and evenings. You do not want to leave when you go there. I will be there in less than 3 months...Again!

You got it in a very special light, as it is usually so golden, and i never saw anyone walking up there, probably only monks can do this.

I never remember it that big, probably because i do not see it as a monument, but as a place where people in Burma can still gather in numbers.

They are magical too, the people!

De gouden schijn van de zon op de zacht blauwe heersende kleur maakt van de achtergrond een uitstekende grafisch geheel dat de kleine figuur volledig tot zijn recht laat komen, echt mooi gedaan Lucas.
