today I'd like to show you the famous Shwedagon-Pagoda in a different way of view.
When you have good focus than you can see the background turned 180 degree in the waterdrops, that's a real reflection.
Can you imagine that this mighty 98-metre gilded stupa located in Yangon can be inside a little waterdrop? Here you have - just before this beauty fell down.
The Swedagon is the most sacred Buddhist pagoda for the Burmese with relics of the past four Buddhas enshrined.
I hope you like it - I'm such an enthusiastic Macro-Photographer and so I also wanted to show you one of my Close-up-shots.
Any words are welcome, thanks and enjoy the sunday.

Stunning! Congratulations on this unique picture.
AmiBe (6042) 2006-11-12 6:53
really good idea, very original, perfect timing.
In my opinion, it could be sharper but I know it's hard to do a perfect focus point with macro shot.
danyy (0) 2006-11-12 7:14

jtclee77 (492) 2006-11-12 8:48
Excellent shot, and I still can't believe that a droplet can be that huge and remain sticking to the leaf. Nice capture of the pagoda in the droplet and great use of DOF.
WhiteRose (10) 2006-11-12 8:52
The image is a little soft but the subject is superb. Well done.
korbee (6619) 2006-11-12 12:38
amazing details,composition,sharpness and frame!
worldcitizen (8858) 2006-11-12 13:24
This is great! It is always nice to see things from a different POV, but your photo does it in a unique and artistic way. The view of the pagoda, with the details of the sky is magical, and the soft blurred colors in the background are also lovely. Wonderful photo!
Buin (42468) 2006-11-12 13:57
Hallo Sabine, hallo Stephan!
Was soll man hierzu sagen!?

SamB (1948) 2006-11-12 14:26
Wow--this is a brilliant idea, and is very thoughtfully and well composed. It is hurt by the slightly soft focus, but the originality and execution of this picture are exceptional.
UnTrained (0) 2006-11-12 14:43

So many shots of refelctign the beauty of the Shwedagon, but this is the most original that I have seen. If only it had been a tad sharper.

roamermark (1592) 2006-11-14 2:31
I want to like this - I really do - but the sceptic in me is saying this is a trick...I can't imagine that this is a naturally occuring thing here. I also think it is a little on the gimmicky side...
however, no matter how it was done it was done well and clearly lots of people like it so...
marjan (6279) 2006-11-14 2:46
Hi SAbine, it is hard to belive that is real shot. Fantstic POV adn feeleing for space. TFS

The detail of the drop in macro, with the reversed reflections of the temple and the beautiful sky with clouds they are, simply, wonderful.

yannick (1471) 2006-11-17 7:51
This is a very impressive picture. I like the dark blue of the sky in the drop, and of course, the perfect shape of the pagoda. An excellent idea, very well realized. Did you need many attempts to get this result?
wgreis (8267) 2006-11-17 12:55
Fantastic "decisive moment". The refletions at the drop is an excelent composition.

daddo (26996) 2007-11-15 20:20
Not sure which one of you took this photo. I think this would have to be one of the cleverest and creative shots I have seen. In addition it has a mystical or contemplative quality. Reminds me of William Balke's comment about seeing Infinity in a grain of sand.I am not often left amazed at my age, but your water drop is an exception. In total admiration- Klaudio.
diverjohn (544) 2007-11-28 8:22
excellent close up work
i thought it may have been a photoshop creation but upon close inspection, i think it is genuine.
again, great work and patience to get this work of art.
branley (3681) 2007-11-29 4:05
