Photographer's Note

Across from the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon is a small lake that has a nat temple, venerating the various quasi-human, quasi-spirit beings that are part of the Myanmar pantheon of religious entities. At this site is a mould that sits on an aged tree with an aged impression of Buddha. Both the tree and the mould are celebrated with gold leaf. With a bit of scrutiny, the image can be made out. The day was overcast and lacked directional lighting that might have improved the modeling.
