Its worth getting up early in Mrauk U not only for the sunrise views from the pagoda but just to walk around the village and watch the village wake up. children on their way to school, mohinga, (breakfast meal) before cooked along the road for the passers by going to work in the fields on on their way to market.
Although it was maybe 16 degrees, for the locals its winter, time to wrap up and huddle by the fire. The smoke from the morning fires makes Mrauk U even more photogenic.

An image so full of atmosphere. Again so well composed - the view of the morning life and the pagoda in the background. Well seen, Elaine.
You know what - Denmark is in the final (handball for men) today - for the first time in 41 years.....amazing isen't it. Playing against Croatia.
Have a nice Sunday.

Excellent atmosphere. I love the rendering on this picture, it coveys a very feel of old engraving. Looks like nothing changed since the early dutch explorers landed here in the 17th century. The golden light getting on the huts, vegetation and stupa filtered by the mist is fantastic.

The light is always the key of a good photograph and you found an incredible light...
You found then a great spot, a daily life moment and that's it, you've a splendid photograph.

For a picture which is so filled with mood & showing a totally different perspective of Mrauk U, this is indeed an underrated photograph. Sometimes I don't understand viewers in TE even being here for almost 2 years. Delightful picture with the early morning sun creating pastel tones through the smoke & mist. Is the person on the left a tourist as well?

mmm... I feel back with your images the morning atmosphere in Mrauk-U. The chirpy chirpying of the birds, the beginning of a new day, the first smiles exchanges...
Thanks for sharing the morning Mrauk-U mood in my winter evening, Elaine!
