A young novice takes time for himself in a tea-shop on the outskirts of Mrauk U. I was on my bicycle but seeing him sitting in his saffron robes in front of the saffron sign was too much of a temptation for me and I had to stop...........:)

got a great innocent expression from the monk, when i see the thumbnail the color tone seems something mysterious.but after opening this page the pov deprived towards the face of the little boy,his looking with indifferently gave an extra strength of this image. i love this one.thanks Elaine for sharing such an image.Have a nice day.keep shooting.

I like a lot the repetition of the purple color of the novice`s robe at the big sign and the table in the foreground works well for the composition.
Love the large version at FP.
Have a great weekend,

Le cadrage et l'unité de tons font la force de cette très bonne photo.

you have composed this picture perfectly, it is a well balanced and considered composition. the colour tones throughout the picture only help to increase this sense of balance and harmony. you have positioned the subject perfectly in the picture.

For sure, I understand that you could not help yourself from stopping here !
The coincidence between his robe and the saffron ad posted on the wall were definitely too appealing
Enjoy your WE

Hello Elaine - I like the colour coordination here but what really draws me to this shot is the beautiful face of the young monk. His eyes are bright, the light on his skin lovely and his expression exudes serenity. A really lovely shot, well balanced and composed. Best regards rosemary

The Buddhist monks in Burma seem to have a more burgundy tint to their robes than in neighboring Thailand, which has bright orange saffron robes. Perfect sharpness & composition here. Tfs!

A combination of portrait and text...that's bound to grab my attention! I like how the colour of the poster is the same as the colour of the monk's robes, so I wonder if it is some kind of religious instructions we're looking at here. Then again, there seems to be girly sticker in the corner there? Then again, why not?
Crop at the top is a bit tight, and I also feel the rather bland tablecloth takes up a bit too much space in the frame, but this sure is a picture I like, so here's thumbs up from me!

it would have been a pity that you miss this beautiful harmony of colors, that adds some interst of the picture, making it stronger.I also like the dreamy expression of the novice, and the way he has put his dress on the head.Excellent!

It would have been a temptation for me too to photograph, those matching tones are simply great. Lovely surrounding textures too and I like that he seems to not notice you at all gazing into the distance.
