Arriving in Mrauk U, the government ferry is just ahead of our boat, believe it or not it is one of the fastest crafts on the river. The ferries date back to the colonial times. Until roads are improved between Sittwe and Mrauk U river travel is still preferred by locals.

So much to see in these places, so full of life!I've posted a similar boat I've seen in Yangoon. They look so old.You're really lucky to have visited Mrauk U, I need to go there next time:)!

i like the funny aspect of this picture,the boat so tilted as we think that it is almost going to overturn.That's a picturesque moment of the journeys which stays for ever in our memory,and that gives the strong impression that we can be nowhere else than in Asia.
