Photographer’s Note
This young man downloads heavy sacks of produce from upcountry at the Bago market. In this photograph he demonstrates the equipment used.
He would not be an Internet downloader, since the authorities have virtually sealed off Myanmar from such communication channels with the outside world. I speculate that the Hank Williams Jr. song may be their inspiration. "Make the world go away, make the world go away, get it off my shoulder, say the things we used to say, and make the world go away."
