Photographer’s Note
At the Kha Khat Wain Kyaung (Monastery) in Bago, the main meal for the following day (February 26, 2008) is being prepared. Before the unrest of September/October 2007, the population of the monastery exceeded 1,000 monks. I was told, on the day of my visit, that there were currently about 300 monks. Moreover, tourists are not being brought to the monastery on their visits to Bago.
