Photographer's Note

Roaming along Irrawaddy River bank on a greyish late afternoon, I come across this simple spot, admittedly a very lonely desolate spot and yet beautiful setting.

Watching closely from some distance away and wonder on how nature offers so many different views and details for us to enjoy, as the low warm sun rays starts emerging from the cloudy sky. Obviously my eye being directed straight to the solitary figure that appears to have the river by herself bathing comfortably in the vast river.

So this is the shot just by myself lost in our own small world taking pictures and enjoying the silence, spendour and somewhat evokes a feeling of utter peace and calm before the river turns to pitch darkness.

Shooting location: On the bank of Irrawaddy River, near a small village in Nyaung Uu township.

A nice diagonal line made by the waterplants and the lonely figure bathing in the Irrawaddy.

I like the delicate light and the compo in the diagonal of the fisherman and the 2 bushes, enhanced by the gradient of colors from golden at bottom left to silver at top right
High horizon line nicely completed by the silhouetted hills at BG

I like this nice photo with excellent light reflections on calm water. I like the arrangement with diagonal placement of small water plants. The image is well framed by the hills in BG.

Thank you for your nice comments to Australian Eucalyptus Trees. It was a very nice, well smellin place. But actually I was lucky, one week afte my visit the forest was completely destroyed by fire, left 200 people dead. Eucalyptus is burning like petrol. When the fire starts, the escape is very difficult, almost impossible. Wish you a great week ahead.

titolo indovinatissimo per questa bella fotografia. Il pescatore è solo con la natura che lo circonda , ma probabilmente nel suo animo, più che alla spettacolo naturale che lo circonda, pensa a superare l'ennesima giornata di lotta per la sopravvivenza.
Uno scatto eseguito con ottima tecnica e con perfetta gestione della luce.
Buone le note che accompagnano la foto.

Hi Abmdsudi,
Your note, as always ties in so well with the image. There is a huge sense of calm, but your note mentions the falling darkness of night, and I would think this is a very different place then. The light is really beautiful on the water, and the hazy mountains in the distance.
The inclusion of the lone bather gives the title of the image a perfect connection. beautiful, thanks for sharing.

This composition's greatest asset may be the tranquillity it radiates. We can really feel the peaceful and quiet atmosphere, where the woman washing her clothes (?) may be the only sound to be heard. The low sun has blessed part of the view with marvellous golden reflections. You positioned yourself well to capture the woman on a diagonal with the twigs seen above the surface.

A wonderful expression of solitude, as the man wades in the expansive river with only the plants (and your camera) to watch him. I like how you've created this diagonal here, and the way the water is reflecting from the left, giving the nearest area of water a golden glow. Thanks!

beautiful work. The reflection has amazing gradient of colors. I like the plants standing out of the water which make some points to focus on. The mountains make a wonderful finish of the scenery. The silhouette of bathing woman is the real highlight and it makes the composition double as interesting..

Il y a ces herbes qui sortent de l'eau
Il en ressort de cette composition un calme plat mais un espace de poésie et de romantisme

You're capturing well this landscape by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see yje color layers the calm river dyed to sunset and a timeless world. It draws out a good atmosphere for the opposite side with the silhouette and blurred mountain range, too. And, the lump of a seaweed draws out a good effect in this image as well as a bathing woman in river.

A simple composition, but that's its beauty, the great perspective of the waters of the river width and delineated the bottom line of mountains, that give a great perspective to the composition, all in a nice range of grays, broken those golden tones in the lower, I think of some sunshine.
