I did a workshop on this, hope you don't mind, I think it help a little. take a look and compare.
In someway it's good that there are not too many tourists. I was there about 8 years ago. Only a handful of tourist I saw which was great. I may post some photos in the future once I have them scanned. I think I actually have the same shot at this same opening.
Bagan is such a beautiful place. Nice shot framed by an opening of a wall. Looks like you got a very hazy and humid day, landscape itself seems a bid overexposed and blur. It’s difficult to get this kind of shot perfectly sharp both near and far. You would have to try slower shutter speed to get a better depth of field. In this case, It may help by applying a little sharpening and contract, and maybe even darkening it a little. Otherwise, its a very good shot.
