In Taunggyi..., a photo from Shan, North

Photographer's Note

Taken in the market of Taunggyi, the capital of the Shan State and also one of the largest cities in the country.
We have slept in Taunggyi in order to visit Kakku, that is not very far and we took the chance to visit its market, where many Pa-Oh people come to sell their products.

Nice taken the pic. of the women sellers on the street market, or rather I say street-pavement market.
Vivid colors collected, face expressions and a young guy sitting in the shade and watching you...

Sensacional esta escena de la vida cotidiana en este pais tan cautivante, soberbio como has captado a estas mujeres junto a su puesto de venta de verduras, sus tradicionales tocados y bolsas, ponen una preciosa nota de color.

Hello Ana,
This is an unspectacular photo from a very simple street-market, but it is this ordinariness that I enjoy. People living their everyday-life not caring at all about tourists, not even bothering about the woman with the camera. Only the young man sitting at the entrance of a shop is maybe watching you. More and more I find these ordinary streets filled with ordinary people a lot more interesting and memorable than spectacular monuments with a hundred tourists in front of them. I also love the good light and pleasant colours of this picture.

questa tua foto, molto ben realizzata dal punto di vista tecnico per via della nitidezza impeccabile, mi piace per il contrasto che metti bene in evidenza tra gli antichi mestieri e le tradizioni del luogo, quale quello di esporre le proprie produzioni al mercato e la meccanizzazione e la modernità che avanza, ben rappresentata dalla fila di motorini che fanno da sfondo.

an unspectacular and calm street scene of a small market in Myanmar. It is exactly the normality of this scene that makes this such an attractive composition. The women attending to their wares and happely chatting away seem completly unaware of your presence and their pose is so naturally.

A superb daily life scene from Burma at this street market. I like the colourful costumes of the women selling vegetables. The bg layer of motorbikes adds a whole new layer. A busy scene with lots to look at. Tfs!

Nice scene from Taungyi with Pa-Oh women selling their products. We also visit it on the way to Kakku, but only for a short time. Nice clear image.
