The golden pagoda in Tachilek is a replica of the famous Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon is worth a quick visit if you are in the Burmese-Thailand border town. The impressive pagoda sits on top of a small hill which affords a very good view of the surrounding areas. You can take a three wheel Tuk-Tuk up there if you don't want to walk up hill.
