Photographer’s Note

She was very curious to see me ,and to know what i was going there with my camera .

just a bit off-road from one of the famous market near by the Inlay Lake ,early in the morning ,i was like "magnetized" by this silent little girl with very strange shoes made with plastic bags.

Salut Tom. fantastic composition. the graphicism from the fence and the bushes on the sides makes a great 2 point perspective... and even the ground seems to be moving in the same direction. the girl here is amazing too... she seems almost in a trance... and those plastic bag shoes are such a small detail that tell volumes of her life. the b/w, so very well done, adds a lot of drama. wonderful job.

eh bioen le N&B continue, mais c'est très réussi Tom. Ces "chaussures" et cet air triste sont très touchants.

Well composed with the girl in the side in front of the fence and the house in the background.

Is she holding a pipe?? She looks really surprised to see you - shy for sure :)

j aime bcp le traitement ici du N&B qui participe je pense à l'atmosphère de cette image

Tengo el gusto de observar tu fotografia en blanco y negro, con ese efecto bien muy bien logrado a travez de la perspectiva, el angulo y ese escuadre interesante.

Je me disais bien qu'il y avait un truc tu utilises ausi un 12mm ca rend cette photo interessante en effet

She is lovely! Her mother probably didn't want her feet getting dirty, hence the plastic bags. Very nice lighting and a super documentary photo of life in this region of the world.

Double magnetisme, Tom - reciprocite!
Elle est superbe cette image, extremement bien composee. Le NB est parfait bien entendu mais je me demande pour ce qui concerne l'emphase de ces souliers en plastique, est-ce que cette fois ci la couleur n'aurait pas aide? Le plastique a tendance a se perdre dans le monochrome... (un avis seleument...)

Life can be so simple, Tom. Plastic bags on her feet and a broken umbrella to play with, she looks a little sad, but i think that she is wary of you. I wonder how this would have been in colour.

Great photojournalistic piece... a strong report from Myanmar! The way you capture her expression is priceless, and a composition to enhance the message... B&W is the only thinkable medium here, maybe I'd like it even more harsh more grainy? An excellent piece of work...

J’adore la position de cette gamine, son air étonné aussi me fait sourire,mais ce plastique sur ces pieds beaucoup moin !

Beside the others ( i.e., bamboo fence, palm leaves huts ) the muddy road for the most, the plastic-bag shoes are well suited for the condition. Her sad eyes was also dictated the focal mood of the whole scenario.
Excellent photojournalism captures; yet, even more powerful portray in B&W as such.
