Photographer’s Note
Bagan (Pagan) was the ancient capital of several ancient kingdoms in Burma. It is located in the dry central plains of the country, on the eastern bank of the Ayeyarwady River.
Children on this photo have special make-up that not only make them beautiful but also protects from the sun. It's made from special kind of wood called "tanaka".
