Photographer’s Note

After 9 hours driving from Bagan to kalaw, we stopped in a village called yin mar pin. We were lucky because there was a novice ordination ceremony with the entire village participating.
This little girl was sitting in the rear of a car with others kids, while their mothers were keeping an eye on them from the outside.

It was quite crowdy and I had to crop a bit on the left side to avoid somebody coming in the frame.

Outstanding details in this photo. She barely looks real. This photo makes me wish I knew more about her culture and her. The color is superb. I really appreciate the fact you've noted the odd grayness on the left. Lots of people post and then don't mention their obvious editing. Thanks for telling us what you did.

Quelle opportunité! En effet, d'arriver ainsi à l'improviste et de tomber sur un événement culturel relève de la pure chance! Tu as su en profiter en saisissant cette petite poupée rêveuse. Ces costumes soyeux sont toujours un régal pour le photographe en quête de couleurs. Belle lumière et netteté irréprochable.

Couleurs superbes, ca ecalte de partout. J'avais vu aussi ces ceremonies en traversant les villages l'annee derniere vers la meme epoque. Tres reussi.

Hi Marilyn,
outstanding colour impression and an innocent face of a child (looks also a bit annoyed). Pleasant usage of reduced DOF and the light is also well used for a good clarity and details. Even crowded you found a good POV to put her in the right frame.

cette petite fille est trop mignonne,avec son maquillage,elle ressemble à une poupée!Les couleurs sont splendides ce qui rend la photo vraiment très belle!Je me demande si tu n'aurais pas pu mettre f/4 ou f/5 pour flouter un peu plus l'arrière-plan!Rien de bien grave,je trouve le portrait magnifique!

Super ce portrait : le piqué, l'éclat, la netteté... tout est superbe (hormis le monsieur dans l'arrière plan, qui jure un peu avec l'ambiance) et produit une très belle photo.

I like the details and colors on her clothing and of course her expression is lovely. Beautiful little girl, her make up looks fantastic. The presence of the face of the boy in your DOF maybe is a little bit distracting but your shot is so good that it doesn't matter.
