Selling fish..., a photo from Mandalay, North

Photographer's Note

Two of many fish sellers I found in the colourful market of Nyaung U, near Bagan, one of the biggest and most interesting markets I've seen in Myanmar. It's really worth to spend a few hours there, watching the hundreds of sellers, the goods they have to sell and also talking with them.

Hello Ana,

I'm happy I was logged on to TE when your photo logged in. The vivid colors in this slice of daily life from the fish market from Myanmar reveals the exotic East Asia. I remember when you too this trip. It appears that later this year, we will be visiting lovely Lisbon again.

Hello Ana - This shot works really well as the details are so clean and crisp against the blue wall. The FG fish on the huge platters look fresh and tempting and the two sales people sit nicely in the composition and look engrossed in their business. A good DL shot full of interesting detail that help to set the scene. Warm regards rosemary

Hello Ana. Fishmongers with age scale. The photo has a lot of interesting details. The colors are very vibrant. I especially like the naturalness and spontaneity of the photo. Overall, a great shot.

Hello Ana,

This is what you would call very fresh produce!
It is very different from the markets that we see in the U.K. here, people squatting on the floor and using very delicate weighing scales to measure the produce.
A very interesting daily life scene, wonderful for contrasts.

Is that a hat or a bowl hung on the wall?

splendida l'ambientazione di questi due venditori di pesce.
La parete azzurra alle loro spalle fa da meravigliosa cornice alle due figure che hai colto in maniera del tutto naturale mentre erano concentrati nella loro attività.
Evito di soffermarmi sulle altre caratteristiche, quali nitidezza. fedeltà del colore e luminosità, che sono caratteristiche che non mancano mai nelle tue belle foto-

Traditional market is also my fav where the action is, This is catchy, good observation on your part and interesting how you have brought this shot to good life with those. The wall and bits of everything are attractive items for effective framing depicting a lively daily life, uncluttered with a rustic feel but full of charm on its own and timely shot. Obviously great care is given in the presentation. Well done.

Good shot from Nyaung U market where i have been so many times.
Excellent composition and good timing.
Since I have been there for the first time, eight years ago I like the color of this wall(on my photos more greenish).

Hi Ana,

You're capturing well this market by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see many fresh fish which can be being dished up to some plates and working sellers. The balance which they are operating at work is also interesting. The whole is harmonized well by nice color combination.

Oh yes, markets are always very nice places to meet the local population. Very nice daily scene, the two fishmongers stand out beautifully against that blue wall, giving a sharp and crisp view on their work and wares.

Hi Ana,

Excellent daily life image. I love walking around in the local market. You can really get an impression of the way of life, what people, buy, sell and eat. Sometimes the smell is be overwelming, but that is part of travelling for me seeing or smelling things you don't really want :)
