All over Burma men and women smoke this locally produced "cigar". This man was sitting on the long wooden bridge near Mandalay.
In response to the blue cast - this was the smoke from his cigar.

this is a nice portrait with a good crop that allows to focus on his extremely sad eyes. i don't know whether this bluish fog around his chin and on his face comes from cigar smoke or lighting. i suggest to use adjustments options in PS e.g. fade corrections

I really like this portrait. I think the composition is good and the clarity is excellent. I agree with liakoshim's comments about the blue cast to this photo. I don't have PS, but I did a workshop anyway.

I know this man! This is a nice sharp portrait, and the cigar adds the touch that makes it worth taking. The fill flash was necessary, but it leaves those shadows. If you have a flash with swivel+bouce head you can swivel it round and bounce the flash off something - a sheet of newspaper, someone's white shirt, anything. That way you get diffused light and no shadow. But those flashes are expensive - maybe your camera shop might let you try one out (a second hand one) if they think you're a serious potential customer.
