Making flowers..., a photo from Mandalay, North

I met this girl somewhere on the way from Bagan to Mount Popa. With thanaka on her face, like most part of the Burmese women, she was making palm frond flowers like these we can see on the little table in foreground.

I like the way you have included the background,complete with large pots , and showing where her daily work is, making lovely frond flowers, probably for very little money.

This is great environmental portrait about this girl and her occupation while taking a short break posing for you. I love the side soft light & shadows which is so well exposed with nice details on the facial feature and the surrounding. Her sharp eyes and the catch lights are strong points here and real bonus for me, I love it. Indeed a perfect shot under this circumstances and natural in colors too. A well done shot, My congrats.

Hi Ana,
Your portrait allows the young woman to establish a direct connection with the viewer with a naturalness and lack of self-consciousness that is often hard to achieve. Combined with the sharp focus on the surroundings, your image tells a strong story. The light, color and composition make it beautiful too.

Hello Ana,
I like this daily life-picture that is as the same time a beautiful portrait of this young girl. It also shows her living environment (or at least the place where she works), the beautiful decorated large pots and the palm frond flowers she makes.
Behind her head we see another nice artisan artwork of which I am not sure what it is.
Excellent light management, clarity and sharpness.

Hi Ana,
This is really nicely taken, the girl looks very natural, and to include the backdrop like this gives a great sense of place to the whole scene. Brilliant idea to how you have composed the flowers in the shot, its lovely that its on the nines, drawing the attention and making a second point of focus along with the girls face.
Great management of light too, the light peeping through the reeds of the wall look very appealing.

Awesome documentation of the daily life of people. From the look of the area, with water jugs and hanging basket, I think is her house also. Good pov and dof with nice details. Great lighting. Well done, tfs.
