Probably the Eiffel tower of Mandalay, U Bein bridge is a major tourist destination.
With hundreds of tourists gathering on the bridge I had to be patient and wait of a window of opportunity to get the monks without a surrounding crowd, giving the impression that it is a quiet and peaceful place... while it is actually totally the opposite, with dozens of buses and private taxis, all arriving for sunset.

this picture looks iconic but from your note it seems its rare. It's a rare scene, anyway, to have three plus one novices crossing the bridge, so nicely placed and in a beautiful, heart warming light. I like very much how you handled the effect of symmetry, rendering your composition so elegant. The colours are very fine too. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely weekend,

Since Burma was opened to tourists and the country became "normal", this bridge has become one of the most iconic structures in all of Asia, not least here on TE. This is a beautiful and very well timed composition with perfect light and reflections. It's just that your note makes me rather sad and disillusioned, although I should have realized the truth about the crowds and noise surrounding a place like this. After all, Bali was hopeless already 40 years ago, and Angkor was quite a shock to me in 2007, so why should the U Bein be saved from the horrors of mass tourism?

Hello Elaine, Yes, it is Tour Eiffel of Mandalay or Taj Mahal of Agra. You waited for the proper moment and here it is - only monks in their robes on the bridge. And I know well how busy it is in the sunset:).
Warm regrads, have a nice Sunday
