My version, a photo from Mandalay, North

Photographer's Note

A picture of a two hundred year old teakwood Ubein bridge, which is probably the most impressive landmark of Amarapura and Burma in general. I know that this is a must subject to be photographed and I have seen the same subject probably numerous times on TE.

This is my version of the famous icon, taken almost sevens year ago from a rowcanoe on Thaungtaman Lake

probably not taken with a tripod
and is slightly out of focus

Hello my friend, what i like the most about the composition here is the angle of the shot because the legs of the bridge seem to never end. It's like she's walking into the sky somehow. Lovely colors also. Good job.

Hello,

It is so an interesting and strange and graphic subject that it is always a pleasure to see good shot from that.
Of course there is the colorfull sky after storm, but it is mainly for the lonely walking woman giving the scale and well placed among the wood bridge that I like this shot.

Yes, I think I've seen this impressive bridge even quite recently here. This is a lovely version of it, with the gradient light shifting from warm to cool, almost led by the woman in red as she crosses. Good strong contrast and sunset light. Thanks!

This place is new to me, so a pleasure to behold. The soft pastel colours are beautiful, as is the soft light on the right hand side. The person on the bridge is a brilliant inclusion, giving an idea of the size of this bridge. It looks huge! It also looks quite delicate. A very soft and gentle image, really nicely done.

I think it's a wonderful photo. The light is everything here, it reveals the beautiful colors and creates a contrast with the graphic lines of the bridge. The little figure up there brings this ephemeral picture to life.

Your version is quite different from the hundreds I have seen myself. Generally the sun is included in frame and therefore we are missing all the wonderful colors you have in yours.

this is a strikingly beautiful shot of this iconic burmese landmark. I personally never grow tired of pictures of the U Bein bridge, it is such a beauty.
Great POV, nice light and the lonely women walking the bridge just gives the composition the needed live.

You're capturing well this scene by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the tasteful wooden bridge in old times. And, you catch a woman who is crossing the bridge by a good position. And, it's effective for the color contrast in the sky.

Superb perspective from the water level, the structure of this fantastic old bridge, is impressive in its height, considering it is a work made by a people without means, only through their efforts, the woman who is crossing is a great addition, she gives us great proportions.
I really like these fuzzy color tones which serve very well as a background image.

Excelent detail photo of this unique wooden bridge. I like the view up. Excellent exposing for the sky has nicely captured the sky colors and made a good silhouette of the bridge and the woman walking on it. Excellent.

well, we all photograph the Iconic subjects from the countries we visit or live in right? its what we as photographers do! its ok!

I'm glad to see that you composed or cropped the photo so that there are spaces between the frame edges and the wood, its not good when the wood is half inside and half outside the frame.

whats unique about your shot are the color ranges, love the purplish tones on the left, very unique.
and the light is striking the wooden posts elegantly along the bottom areas
very nice shot, be proud of this one :)

Beautiful image of this famous location. I was here not during the day, it was nice but did not have this kind of mood and atmosphere. The lone person walking on the bridge adds so much to the composition. The dark cloud and slight warm color of setting adds to the moodiness.

Once again you got a different photo of a so well known place. The colours of the sky in background make is so unique. I like the way you framed the lonely woman with the red blouse, crossing the bridge. You framed just part of the bridge and yet it seems huge, compared to the woman.

Yes, we have seen so many versions of this well photographed bridge; each with a little differentiation and uniqueness, I think. In yours here, it states simplicity, and the well chosen angle for the setting sun and the well timed placement of the solitary figure, with the sun catching the back of her brightly coloured attire, works wonderfully.
