[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Although Chin state is the only Christian State in Burma there are many moslim villages. (The first Christian missionaries Rev. Arthur Carson and his wife Laura Carson, arrived at Haka, the present Chin State capital, on March 15, 1899 from America.)

Gorgeous girl, beautiful picture. The focus is great.

Wonderful portrait Elaine, a well captured look and d a perfect crop, excellent work!!

all my compliments!!!

have a nice day,
Fabio.

You have captured a lovely frank open look, Elaine . I love the subdued color. The neutrals give the small splashes of color such richness. I see that the picture was taken this year in January and I am fascinated that you managed to get to such a remote place at this sensitive time. It is interesting that the Muslims are so much better at resisting foreign influences than the Chin Hill tribes. Sadly American money still fosters missionary intrigues in several Burmese regions. The military use this threat to national unity as an excuse to continue in power.Politics and religion were always enmeshed. I would to see more and hear more about your visit to this region. regards kevin

One more time, great shot Elaine !
I think this girl was very proud when you took the photo. Now, with the numeric cameras, whe can show the pic to the persons. It's often a very nice moment to show them the result.
Now, I'm waiting tomorrow to look after another picture of you...
Very good job
Alain

superb portrait again. all that i can say. her bright eyes are very captivating
indrajit

Nooo...the pearls are there on her eyes!!!So precious and nice this look.
A wonderful portrait .
All the best

You have a beautiful collection of ladies all ages and it shows so well to me that we are all the same in many ways and we like to dress up just a little to get attention, no matter where you come from, no matter how old you are. I love your natural tone work in this one, just brown and white, and the earrings shining. Very nice work, Elaine, I like it. Barbara.

Hi Elaine!
Alone this wonderful, true and unspoiled smile makes me wish to go there again as soon as possible. For me it`s amazing how Burmese people, having not much except this rude government can be so friendly and helpul.Maybe it`s there way to make life easier and survive.
Regards,Leo

Elaine: I remember both in this series - they are a beautiful lot - not quite Burmese and not quite Indian. These are great portraits with affectionate cooperation from your friends. c

This portrait is really very special - the whites in the photo are wonderful, without any overexposure (my speciality)... Plus, her expression : I'll add it to my 2nd favorites, don't want to forget this !
Congratulations,
Cath.

Hi Elaine,
I have been looking at this image for a while. It is amazingly beautiful. Her face, the texture almost tangible of the image, the wonderful background that matches so well her skin. I can just admire your delicate execution. Admirable!
To my favourites.

Elaine,
