Chin village at the border between Rakhaing and Chin State.
Formerly chin fashion was the custom of tattooing women's faces. Chin facial tattooes cover the whole face in a pattern that resembles a spider's web, even the eyelids were tattooed. This traditional tattooing was done to young girls at the age of 12.

Legend has it that this practise was initiated to keep young maidens from being coveted by Rakhaing princes.

I always love portraits from Myanmar. These people have such a nice culture, colors and faces. Yours is a good one

Bonjour Marc,
Un profil interessant oú l'on voit bien les tatouages et les persing divers. Mais une pose, un peu plus de face (ou 3/4) aurait permis de voir les yeux, toujours interessant pour un portrait. Le cou est un peu trop coupé à mon gout.
Les couleurs et la profondeur de champ sont trés bonnes.
