Photographer’s Note
This is taken in far western Mongolia, close to the ranger station in the far northern corner of Tavanbogd National Park.
The drawings on this rock are supposedly Turkish from roughly the 1500s. They are all drawings of local animals and on people on horseback. The drawings can be found on the rocks within about 15 km of this place. There are no markings to get to this place, and no real landmark to help find it. My guide just asked me if I wanted to see some drawings on some rocks, I said yes, and he pulled off the road at this place. There are no people around for hundreds of kilometers of here, except for the odd herder and his livestock of goats, sheep, horse and the occasional camel.
This photo is taken in the same general place as my earlier posted photo, named "Freedom!"
