Another view at this remote Mongolian Buddhist Tibetan Monastery, one of the very few, to escape the total destruction in the 1937 crackdown by the Russians: (was it Karl Marx who said "religion is the opiate of the masses", around about the same time frame?)

Anyway, the reflected blue skylight, in the puddle by the door, caught my eye here.

Taken at Amarbayasgalant Khiid. ('Khiid' is the Mongolian word for 'temple/monastery'). This place has several dozen monks living there. There was a big revival of Buddhism in Mongolia, after the USSR collapsed in 1991.

Hello Chris,

Yeah I think it was Lenin who said that. Too bad he failed to see the positive side of religion. Nice image with the tiny bit of blue sky adding good contrast. The monastery seem in bad shape but I imagine is still very useful nowadays. Thanks Chris.

Hi Chris.

This is a really good picture! I really like your framing of the building through this doorway. Also I feel the colours are really good in this one. The puddle was well noticed as well!

Thanks for sharing!

Hi Chris. I like how you have played with the two gates in this composition. The light is also nice in it´s softness. Thanks.
Miguel

Hi Chris, You made a very attractive composition looking out throgh the doorway. This ininteresting architectural style. TFS. Murray.

merhaba dear chris
wonderful interesting tibetan Monstery.excellent colours and door.good reflections.well done my friend.
best regards.
gürkan akçakır.

Good use of the open doorway as a frame for the building beyond, but it is also of interest in itself. The shape of the door-frame, the peeling paint and of course the puddle of reflections all combine to make a good shot.
Well done
Kath

Hello Chris

Once again, I am speechless when I see these
pictures taken with an almost vintage camera. Although I expressed these feelings before you never wrote and explained why you are so keen
in going on with the old system. I would really appreciate your point of view if you can spare a few moments.

Best - Izzet

Bonsoir,
belle photo de cette porte que vous ouvrez sur une partie du monde que je ne connais pas, ces toits seul me disent quelque chose pour les avoir vu dans des films.
jolie vue sur ce jardin qui est plaisant.

Namaste Chris
Excellent framing & superb handling of exposure, given the contrast. The details of the wooden door, the lush green grass & of course the little puddle by the door really makes this picture an eye catcher

Hello, Chris,
I always like shots that start out dark in the FG and the light is seen in the back. This is wonderful that way. Beautiful view through the doorway, lovely colors and I LOVE that bit of cloud reflected in the water inside. Well done! Many thanks and kindest wishes,
Shelly
