Photographer’s Note
This is a photo of the Khongorin Els sand dunes in Mongolia. A bunch of us climbed to the top to watch the sunset. The sunset was taking quite a while, so we decided to try the Mongolian National sport of wrestling while we were waiting.
Wrestling is unbelievably popular in Mongolia. Almost every male in the country is quite a good wrestler. My guide on this trip weighed about 25 kgs less than me and took me down no problem. The rules are a little different than in most countries: the match is over as soon as any body part other than hands or feet touch the ground.
This is a photo of the decisive moment just before my friend got thrown down the dune. I kept the horizon in the middle of the photo, as I was using my wide angle lens.

tres belle compo Mike,
l'attitude des 2 personages n'est pas tres precise mais ajoute de la profondeur à l'ensemble.
au plaisir

Very colorful. DOF and Colours are excellent. I think you have captured the correct beauty of the sky at this time of night. Very good picture....

Just as on all your photos from Mongolia here the sky is amazing. The silhouettes gives the climate of this decisive moment :) The dunes ideally vanish in the line to the sun.
Good job.

Very, very nice and a very informative note. The exposure is spot on for the type of scene you have photographed and it has brought out some nice colours. The only nit-pick is that the horizon appears to be tilted a little to the right.
