Gandantegchinlen Monastery
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| The Gandantegchinlen Monastery in Ulaanbaatar is the largest monastery in Mongolia, with over 400 monks. Its name means Great Place of Complete Joy or Great Way to the Cosmos. It was one of the only monasteries to survive the communist rule. This building is part of large complex. Inside there is a 25 meter statue of Magjid Janraisig (the lord who looks in every direction). The Dalai Lama visited here the day after I took this photo. |

Hallo Hugh!
A very interesting picture and an impressive architecture! Religion seems to be alive there. I like that you included the old man going to the building. Thank you for showing this!Greetings from Germany!
Frank
Superb composition, colours and light. I like the beautiful temple and those coloured clothes of the monks. Very good !

Hi Hugh
Great pov and really nice timing. The man bowing really makes the picture. Very colorful and sharp. Well done.
Ben
Dear Frank from Germany.
I understood your sarcastic innuendo. 'Religion still alive there(dead in Europe) and the old man walking towards the temple( the young and educated wouldn't believe this crap, right ? ) WRONG ! You couldn't be farther from the truth and that's why your Europe will be taken over by Islam !
