Photographers Note
When we first arrived in Ulaan Bataar it was late. All we wanted to do was get out of UB and on to the steppe. The next morning we were walking down Peace Street and came upon Sumar Magic Tours. We went in and saw their advert for Chinggis Tourist Camp.
They said, "It has a great location in the beautiful natural Tuul river Nomad's Sacred Valley of streams, pine trees, just 50km to the South-eastern side of "Terelj" National Park and 55km from UB. Our "Chinggis" Tourist Nomadic Camp, was inaugurated in July 2002 in memory of "Chinggis" Khaan's 840th Birthday Celebration!."
Well it was out of the budget but it was out of UB and looked great. So we spent the next two days relaxing on the great Mongolian steppe.

Wonderful landscape and good photo also!
I like the warm light of the sun on the wooden walls of the small house, it creates atmosphere.
Nice composition also, with the house on the left and great space left to the landscape.

Hello Benjamin,
Nive view of the steppe, certainly more calm than UB :) The light is great and I like the white spots of the yurts on the steppe.
Best regards, Laurent.

Marvellous, absolutely marvellous. Best shot I have seen today. So far, anyway. Beautifully composed in a lovely end-of-the-day light. I love that relaxed looking person leaving the house, and the expansive panorama behind. Don't know what jinju is complaining about!

Andrew

Hey Ben,
I do like the shot overall. What I think is good is your framing, the fantastic view onto the valet and the light. And you know I lik people in my shots but here, I think that this person somehow doesnt fit. If you couldnt get a Mongolian here (imagine a shepphard, that would rock) then I think a shot without anyonewould maybe be preferable.
As for tomorrow, after 10:30 am Im free to go shooting but Im meeting someone at 3 at Insadong.

Hi Benjamin,
The lighting in this gorgeous landscape photo is particularly good. The rolling hills, fence, and the girls tepping out really add visual appeal. Well done. Best wishes. Danilo

You really can jump in to this beautifull landscape well enhanced by the golden hour moment to get the warm colortone and the soft shadows thrown by the clouds over the hills, a well placed bungalow aside lightened up in the warm sun with the person scaling it and making it more lively.
