Photographer’s Note
Yup, in the middle of the Gobi desert, this ice gorge runs through the middle of a deep valley known as Vulture Valley. In winter, the ice can be up to 10 metres high and can span up to 10 km. It remains frozen for most of the year, except for about a month starting in late August.

Very nice image.
I love the way the ice cut is lost at the background.
Well done!

beautiful picture...I would prefer it without people as it would really look unreferenced then...thanks a lot..

This is really amazing. I had no idea there was ice in the middle of the Gobi desert! I like the people for scale - good idea. It is so nice and clear, and the water is perfectly sharp! Thanks for sharing this Mimi, you have definately piqued my interest in Gobi! Nicely seen.

Quite unique - ice in the desert..I love the way you captured the different colours of the ice and the blueish gorge, running throught it, Mimi. The people at far end are a nice compliment to your shot. Well done!
