The annual Nadaam Festival brings the Mongolian culture to life. Competition is fierce in the three 'Manly Sports' of wrestling, archery and horse racing. The biggest festival is held in the capital city, Ulaanbataar, with the horse racing location at the steppes a bit out of town.
The day was sunny and a photographer's delight. Every second man, woman and child was on a horse, many dressed in ethnic costume adding to a dazzling display of colour and noise. As two horsemen came riding up the hill, I managed to snap this one.
