Photographer’s Note
Family portraits in Sukhbatar Square, Mongolia, are taken very seriously. Photographers, like the ones in this photo, circle Mongolian tourists like hawks, presenting their portfolios and hoping to get work taking the classic snapshot in front of the statue. This shot captures the slightly bewildered family as a bunch of photographers fuss over them.
I noticed later that Sukhbaatar (the guy on the horse) and the woman are pointing in opposite directions.
