Hello Chris,

I like this photo more than your previous as the lighting is softer and there is more tonal range. The dead tree is what transforms this shot from being another landscape into something unique. I like how the water is halved by this narrow isthmus of land. Good sharpness and saturation. It is a shame about the limited size from the conversion, but at least this shot is here on TE to inform the viewer about this place that not many would have the opportunity of seeing. It is a very pleasant place by the looks of it, and no crowds like most areas of natural beauty. TFS.

Hi Chris,

excellent POV on this one. I love this white dead tree in foreground reaching toward beautiful lagoon and green layer comming from left, somehow like from another scene. Beautiful mixture of water and green surfaces, creating (for me) very unusual scenery. Most beautiful landscape!

Hi Chris,
bleached by the sun, the overexposure is below disturbing and the contrast are good, no question. A bit like a ghost tree and nice clouds in the sky. The mirror effect of the water is very strong and good divided by the tree and its branches.

Normally I prefer dark and saturated photos, with rich colours, but for some reason this bright shot really looks great to me. The bright clouds, beach and tree really give this a silvery shine that is very attractive. Good composition too. Well done!

I really like the way you composed this one and I think the dead tree makes a beautiful central subject. The white colored shore makes a nice curve leading the eye behind the tree.

I totally agree with Matt, the tree adds punch, though the calm water separated by the pebble bar, and the distant clouds, would by themselves have made an great landscape. I'd like to go there, but I'm afraid of the food of all things. I hate the taste of mutton, which I hear everything smells like there.

On the first place I thought we were looking at a frozen tree, but the picture was showing something else. The place is splendid ans so is the picture. My only concern is the fact the the branches could be taken with a blue background instead, say the one on the right.

Nice comp and colors. Khovsgol is a very beautiful place. I could have stayed there forever. I think we stayed at Nature's End? How did you enjoy Mongolia? I loved it. Are you still in Seoul? If you are we should meet up. Anyhow well done.

Great composition and amazing colours ! Mongolia is certainly inspiring you and each of your photos shows a different aspect of it, I'll never imagine it again as a land of endless steppes, now I discover all its varieties of landscapes and I cannot get enough of them !
