Photographer’s Note
The Gobi Desert in northwest Mongolia surprisingly has several lakes, of which the largest is the Doroo Nuur, pictured here. It is also a rest stop on the route of migratory birds to and from Siberia. I got here by horse after riding for a week and somehow managed to wake up early enough the next morning to find this sunlit, sand-sculpted lakeshore leading to mountains in the distance. The sinuous curve of the shore, seemingly opening out to infinity, gives some sense of the expansiveness of the Mongolian landscape. Photogravure etching printed with Carbon Black and Burnt Umber inks on Japanese washi.

Hello Peter,
It looks like an old post card!
I like the texture of the riddle in the sand !
Good job!

Hello Peter,
Striking gravure of this beautiful nowhere... Once again let me extend a warm welcome to our community. Acceptance is sometimes slow in coming but I should think someone of your proven craftsmanship should gradually make an impact - it is only right.
Anyway let me throw my rough streetshooting approval down on this fine landscape, serpentine and cerafully composed.
Yoroshiku,
Francis

Very old fashioned look in this well composed and well executed photo.
