Photographer’s Note
Mongolia, at 1,564,116 square kilometres, the nineteenth largest country in the world, but also the least densely populated. This photo, taken from 11000m on the way form Incheon in Korea to London shows very little arable land as much of its area is covered by arid and unproductive steppes with mountains to the north and west and the Gobi Desert to the south. Most of the country is hot in the summer and extremely cold in the winter, with January averages dropping as low as -30ºC (-22ºF). Ulaanbaatar has the coldest average temperature of any national capital in the world.
I only incerased saturation to minimize reflection caused by double window in the aircraft.

viktor

Hi Viktor. Nice photo. This is a lovely blend of colours and patterns, almost graphic in its nature. Well composed with the slight diagonal inclination and fine detail. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.
