In my first day in Tov, I wanted the more to enjoy the landscape as well as meet people
So I headed to a place where seemed to be movement, it was late evening, milky time was over
And this man was (I suppose) was going home (yurt) with same milk
What I love of this country is that being nomadic, there are still few routes and you are free to go wherever you want, without asking permission as is people to live without paying taxes, but
the moment they put a fence to keep their cattle sure, cultivate some vegetables, they must pay for it
So obviously, I asked if I can go and live freely there, not so easy, they said, you must obtain permission, what has already done Chinese, Russian and Canadian firms opening and starting mining business in Mongolia.,about 3,000 mining licenses have been issued the last years

I believe this is "Tuva," a city I've wanted to see for a very long time. In the 1980s one of the greatest physicists of our times, Richard Feynman, put the city his bucket list. Then several years ago my dentist and good friend, Preston Burns, was visiting me at my home, he saw the book about Feynman on my bookshelves, "Tuva or Bust,", and immediately made arrangements to visit it. I will share this photo with him. At that high altitude, when the sun is out, the sunlight must be intense, just as these colors reveal. The photo features wide open fields, and complementary colors of red and green. Meanwhile, I urge you to click on the link above.

The wast empty countryside of Mongolia is really impressing. The perfectly framed lonely man and the fences disappearing in the distance enhance the effect of a wide open land. The light is gorgeous and the colors really pleasing.
have a good day

Memories of the past, we humans are a part of life, and because of this, that is what we are away from the machine life, we feel more relaxed, Green pastures, cows, fresh milk, beautiful landscape, tents, and .....
Waking up in the morning with the sound of chickens and birds, ou ou dogs, V V, and not digital alarm clock
best wishes for you

Hi Maria, you cauht very very well this morning whit this warm and magic light, fantastic scenery and atmosphere too,the red milk man is like the cherry on a green cake, very original and whit the best details and colors,i like it! Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

The man is well placed and his red details make him contrast perfectly to the green surroundings. The long fence and very simple road make fine diagonals that give the composition a nice structure.

amazing picture, juicy green with lots of space and air. The man's red vest is the perfect addition to set off the scene. Well done!

No milk today, my love has gone away
The bottle stands for lorn, a symbol of the dawn
No milk today, it seems a common sight
But people passing by don't know the reason why
How could they know just what this message means
The end of all my hopes, the end of all my dreams
How could they know the palace there had been
Behind the door where my love reigned as queen
Very nice local scene with good lights but I don't drink milk since 4 years old :)
With my warmest regards

your pictures and notes are so interesting. (By the way, I read the information in your kind reply and think it's amazing. I hope you'll run into the photographer you're looking for one day and be able to exchange views about your subject.) Regarding today's note, I don't think you would do the same as these enterprizes in Mongolia; your presence there would be much more discreet and eco-friendly:)
This picture is wonderful. I like very much its simplicity, not only concerning the composition but also because it describes the place and the way of living there so effectively. I love the vast depth, the warm light, the vivid colours and the way the gentleman is looking into the lens while going on his way. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely day,

Milking time! this shot surely brings back some of your fond memories from this haven open vast grassland, this is wonderful just how the view should be and the humble farmer really stands out and gives it punch in his own rural environment. You have great light there as the angled warm light is picking out the details superbly with wonderful play of shadows and textures. I love the timeless atmosphere so well recorded, probably what is missing are the cow and sound of the milk in the pan. He he:))
Description is so informative as always, in particular the last paragraph is of concerned, hopefully their traditional way of life remains.
Very well done, Hv a great day.

Bonne profondeur accentuer par la clôture, une très belle lumière qui rend le vert lumineux et l'ombre de la personne avec son lait, une belle scène de vie, mais beaucoup de contrainte dans ce pays

lovely presentation from Mongolia again.I really enjoy your reportage. Although the landscape seems so simple it has an extraordinary charm. Interesting capture here of the man with characteristic type of beauty. Also note quite interesting.
I have answered your comment to my last photo under my photo.
Have a great weekend,

A very peaceful, pastoral photo interrupted by the bright red vest the man is wearing. It is very effective. Very nicely done!
PS. Did you know that we use the word yurt in Turkish, too? In Turkish, it means "homeland" and I am sure the Mongolian yurt and the Turkish yurt are related, they have the same general meaning.

Beautiful green hill with lovely warm sunset light. The presence of the man in his red vest really brighton up the scene and enhances the composition.

Another interesting picture from Mongolian People Republic! ) I like this composition with the red spot on the green landscape.
Did you mean the ex -Soviet republics? Buryatia is the autonomic republic in the Russian Federation. I have got a few film slides in my archive only. If you want I can scan them and send to you more interesting views.

Maria, tan agradable para vivir en el campo y adoptar la forma natural de vivir
cerca de los animales y siguendo las costumbres tradicionales
la vista de verde interminable es muy fascinante
el color y la luz son fabulosos!!
