If you look closely, you'll spot 2 climbers on the turtle's back. This unusual rock formation is one of the major attractions of Terelj National Park, about 70 km north east of Ulan Bator.

who did that? Nature? Great. Wonderful sandstone formation positioned on a slope crawling upwards. The two climbers give an idea of scale, that's fine. I like the texture of the turtle.

Bonjour, mon ami Chris,
Pour une fois, le nom de cette sculpture naturelle n'est pas usurpé !
Heureusement que des personnages sont sur cette formation rocheuse pour se rendre compte de l'importance de l'ensemble.
TFS, mon ami.

I can never resist a rock shot, and this one's pretty unusual. Thanks too, for drawing out attention to the scale.

One might think someone has helped nature here, hehehe! Well, not really...
An amazing rock has been nicely captured, I like the well balanced composition and the clarity of colours!

Salut mon Ami Chris,
Vraiment impressionnante cette tortue de pierre. Les deux personnages sont si petits que je ne les avais pas vus.
La nature fait bien les choses.;o)

It's the biggest turtle of the world! Excellent POV, light, colors and textures. The people at the top gives a good scale.

Indeed a magnificent and strange formation; on first glance, it seemed as if it had to have been carved by Man. I like the contrasting hues here. The clarity of detail on the turtle is impressive. Well captured.

is that done just by nature? Impressing. The climbers are so small, so it has to be a big thing.
Very nice capture. Nice perspective and composition.

When I first saw this I thought it was from Cappadoccia, but I see this is much more rare. The shape of the rock is certainly very striking and beautiful. It's good that you pointed out the climbers on the top, because I wouldn't have noticed them. Excellent!

The Nature is a miracle...
Greath shot and thanks for this

Hi Chris. I'm glad you pointed them out otherwise I probably never would have noticed the climbers. It would be hard to believe that some part of that wasn't man-made because it's just too perfect. I do like the light you had and the colors it gave you. Nice one Chris.

Very strange rock formation! It really look like a giant turtle but I have no idea of the size despite the trees (small or huge trees ?)
I like the framing
Ohhh ! Sorry,
After reading the Papagolf critic I see the men on the rocks ! Really huge rock !

An amazing rock, and good to have the people for scale, oh oh do I see some clouds perturbating the purity of the ever blue mongolian sky ???
Have a nice day,

Amazing rock formation with the shape of a giant tortoise, from a good POV. The tiny people on top of the rock give us an idea of its size.
Have a nice day
